Embracing Tradition, Tasting Home

In the heart of Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, where the sea whispers to the land and the soil gives life to every crop, there's a rich tradition of flavors. This is where our story begins - a tale filled with tradition, love, and the true essence of Kokani authenticity.

Honoring Tradition

We value tradition and the magic of organic, locally sourced ingredients. Our goal is to support these age-old practices, to empower local farmers and producers who work hard to sustain our community.

S For Satish

Satish Ratate, a young businessman from Ambavali village in Mandangad taluka of Ratnagiri district in Konkan, has been working in the field of YouTube for the past six years. His family, known as the Ratate Parivar, supports him in his endeavors. He is backed by his wife, Varsha Ratate, his mother, Pratibha Ratate, and his brother, Jivaraj Ratate, as he pursues this work.

Through his channel, S For Satish, he showcases the culture, customs, festivals, celebrations, traditions, and agriculture of Konkan villages. Simple Konkani recipes, lovingly prepared by his mother, are also shared on the channel. Many viewers inquired about the masala his mother used while preparing food and expressed interest in purchasing it. Since then, the demand for their spices has been steadily increasing across Maharashtra, India, and even abroad.

Today, the finest quality spices, prepared in the traditional homemade way using the Danka machine, are being delivered to countless homes. Starting with the production of one Konkani masala, the business has now expanded to include a variety of traditional masalas. They also provide the best Konkan products, such as Konkan fruits, Ratnagiri Hapus mangoes, pulses, dried fish, and more, ensuring quality and authenticity for their customers.

Our Mission

Started as Ratate Bandhu, the spice business initially sold only one Konkani Gharguti Masala. Seeing the enthusiastic response from customers and growing demand, we expanded to offer a wider variety of traditional spices. Our spices have become popular among many consumers in Maharashtra and other states in India. We prepare the finest traditional homemade spices without any adulteration or harmful ingredients. Our spices are crafted using a special Dunka machine, which enhances their taste and ensures they last longer.

In response to customer demand, we have also introduced a range of organic products from Konkan, such as pulses, Konkani Mewa, Ratnagiri Hapus mangoes, Devgad Hapus mangoes, Kaju Gar, Kokum, Kokum Aagal, various flours, and dried fish. Our objective is to provide our customers with the highest quality organic products and earn their trust through excellent service.

Our Vision

Along with Ratate Bandhu spices, we aim to bring you the finest organic products sourced directly from Konkan village farmers and horticulturists in the future. In Konkan, farmers often face the challenge of transporting their produce to cities like Mumbai, Pune, and Kolhapur to sell. Due to the high cost of transportation and inadequate prices for their commodities, commercial agricultural production is not widely undertaken in the region. Even when products are grown, farmers are left wondering where to sell them.

As Ratate Bandhu, we are committed to creating a dedicated marketplace for these farmers and villagers. Through this platform, their goods will receive fair prices, and a stable market will be readily available to them. Our goal is to enable farmers and traders from the villages of Konkan, as well as across Maharashtra, to deliver their products to customers worldwide through our Ratate Bandhu e-commerce platform.
